To deal with the challenging environment on railroads, Cboost created a robust, flexible solution integrated into the Trackbot. The Trackbot is a smart assembly robot that autonomously loosens a rail from its sleepers by unscrewing the collar bolts, shifting the clamps off the rail, and fastening bolts.
Railroad construction and maintenance experts are scarce and often need to deal with challenging environments such as harsh weather conditions or accumulation of dirt, as well as many safety regulations. This can complicate construction and repairs, while requiring more manual work.
In collaboration with AMT Group, Cboost developed a software powered by AI for the Trackbot, a prototype that can autonomously loosen and tighten collar bolts on railroad tracks, while also moving the clamp. The solution can log every manoeuvre performed on each bolt, improving adherence to safety regulations.
